12 Days of Christmas

12 Days of Christmas

This year, my offering of gifts to my sweet Romeo came a little bit differently. Instead of waiting until Christmas Eve to open all of his presents at once, he received one a day for twelve days. The 12 Days of Christmas! I stumbled across something similar to this on Pinterest and figured I’d shake things up this year… Quite honestly, it was like Christmas morning for him (almost) every day (a few of the gifts arrived later in the afternoon/evening…) and he LOVED it!

I tried to relate each day to the gift. Some were clever, a couple, not so much:

On the first day of Christmas: sexy underwear. Oh yes, these are yummy…
On the second day of Christmas: 2lbs of his favorite coffee, Blue Bottle
On the third day of Christmas: 3 random things he enjoys. this one made me laugh…
On the fourth day of Christmas: four wine glasses
On the fifth day of Christmas: new comfy sleepy pants
On the sixth day of Christmas: six pack of beer – his choice
On the seventh day of Christmas: seven wild 7’s lottery scratch-offs
On the eighth day of Christmas: bottle of Cline Ancient Vines Zinfandel (sentimental meaning)
On the ninth day of Christmas: box of truffles (pic didn’t turn out, so we had to buy another box! oops)
On the tenth day of Christmas: pair of new leather flops
On the eleventh day of Christmas: a hungry baker’s dozen of his favorite cookie
On the twelfth day of Christmas: twelve new running gear items

All in all, Christmas rocked this year. I’m a very happy girl. Happy holidays to all!

Check. Check. Smile.

It has been awhile since I have addressed the Bucket List

Over the course of merely 2 weeks, I was able to cross off 2! (The fact it’s taken me nearly 2 months to write about it? Well, I’m just trying to keep the deux theme going…)

I may also mention that both were in the company of Romeo. Double score! (I have an inkling that we’ll  be seeing a pattern in that arena.)

First Item: Cutting down my own Christmas Tree.

Yep, Romeo and I had been eyeballing a fabulous (Charlie Brown on steroids) pine on the vacant lot adjacent to our digs. It was roughly two weeks prior to Christmas when we stole into the night to claim our coniferous evergreen. Armed with a Maglite®, drywall saw (baha) and childlike enthusiasm, we made our way over and Operation: Tree Acquisition ensued.
Our tree is the most beautiful tree I’ve ever had. I use “is” because it’s still up. Yes, I know it’s February. I can’t seem to break it down… I’m emotionally attached to it. (Romeo and I’s first tree on top of the sentimental value of cutting it down ourselves.)

Second Item: Cross-country Road-trip.

East coast to west coast, baby! Seriously, this homeland traverse was extraordinary. Commingling previous steps with the untrodden improved and created new memories that will forever be treasured. From the east coast of FL to the west coast of CA, Romeo and I ate, laughed, kissed and savored everything in between.

Two more down, so many to go…

MondayNESS ~ 12/1/08
